Residential Rekey Special Explained
To Rekey a lock is to change the internal workings of a door lock so the old key cut no longer opens the lock. The lock is reset to work with a different key cut. The deadbolts, knobs, and hardware are not replaced—only the internal mechanisms that accept the key. Rekeying home locks is a cost effective way to ensure your home or rental property is secured. There are many situations where a residential Rekey is needed:
• Lost, stolen or unreturned keys.
• It keeps all your locks on the same key.
• Rekeying a home saves money compared to replacing lock.
• A new homeowner who wants to insure no one else has a key to their home.
• Tenant turnover of a leased property.
• Complies with local or state property codes.
What is Included in The Rekey Special?

Rekey Up to 6 Keyholes
To rekey a lock we replace the internal workings of your door locks to ensure the old keys will no longer work. The Mr. Rekey locksmith will provide you with new keys at the time of service. Exterior doors usually have two keyholes, one doorknob and one deadbolt. Therefore 6 keyholes usually is equivalent to 3 doors. We will also update your existing deadbolts with new kick-in resistant screws as an added security feature.
We Provide 4 New Keys
Mr. Rekey will provide you with new keys to your locks at the time of service call. We understand you may need more than one key copy, which is why we provide you with 4 keys, right away. If you need additional key copies, please let us know.
